JUST Pop-Up Trainee

Social Work Academy 2025

Our Pop-Up Social Work Training Academy is a comprehensive seven-week initiative, designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to become a mental health support worker.  The course is full time, with two days of lectures and three days on-job training per week in our award-winning housing schemes.

Salary: £1500 per month for the duration of the course, with guaranteed full-time job prospects upon completion of the academy

  • As a Recovery Support Worker at JUST, you’ll play a vital role in supporting adults with complex needs to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. You’ll:

    • Provide 1:1 key work, developing SMART support plans that promote independence, recovery, and wellbeing.

    • Deliver hands-on support, including managing medication plans and assisting with tenancy or welfare matters.

    • Facilitate meaningful engagement through service user meetings and induction processes.

    • Ensure accurate and professional record-keeping across all communication channels.

    • Work collaboratively with clinical teams, external partners, and families to ensure joined-up care.

    • Promote safeguarding, relational security, and risk awareness in every interaction.

  • We welcome applications from people with experience in housing, mental health, homelessness, or substance misuse services. You’ll need:

    • Demonstrable experience working with adults facing complex challenges.

    • Confidence writing and implementing SMART support plans.

    • Skilled communication, both written and verbal – with an eye for accurate, confidential documentation.

    • An understanding of safeguarding, relational risk, and the ability to respond calmly to challenging behaviour.

    • Ability to co-produce risk and support plans with service users and professionals.

    • Strong IT and admin skills to keep systems and documentation up to date.

    • Salary: £25,000 starting, rising to £27,000 after a successful 6-month review.

    • Hours: 35 hours per week – with flexibility to meet service needs.

    • Annual Leave: 25 days plus Bank Holidays.

    • Work Locations: Across various JUST services in London.

    • Support Package:

      • Interest-free travel loan post-probation.

      • £500 student loan contribution after 6 months.

      • 5% employee pension contribution, with 3% from JUST.

    • Probation: 6 months, with a full induction and regular performance reviews.

Recovery Support Worker

  • As a FAST Worker, you’ll be part of an elite mobile team delivering exceptional support to adults with complex needs, including mental health challenges and learning disabilities. You’ll:

    • Set and model high-quality standards of care and practice across services.

    • Deliver specialist, psychologically-informed, recovery-focused support to service users.

    • Monitor changes in behaviour or health and co-produce practical strategies with service users.

    • Design and deliver communal and 1:1 activity plans tailored to individuals’ goals and needs.

    • Lead on post-inspection improvements and embed best practice across projects.

    • Promote safeguarding and ensure robust health and safety compliance at all times.

    • Adapt fluidly across JUST services, acting as a role model for best-in-class support.

    • Salary: £32,000 per annum.

    • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (35 hours per week).

      • Annual Leave: 25 days plus Bank Holidays.

      • Location: You’ll work across any JUST service as needed – no two weeks are the same.

      • Support Package:

        • Interest-free travel loan after probation.

        • 5% pension contribution from salary, with a 3% employer top-up.

      • Probation: 6 months, with regular reviews and clear feedback structure.

Floating Advanced Support Team Worker

  • As Quality Assurance Director, you’ll be the strategic lead on excellence across all of JUST’s services. You will:

    • Lead and line-manage JUST’s elite Floating Advanced Support (FAS) Team and provide operational oversight across staff teams when required.

    • Set, implement and embed quality frameworks that uphold the highest standards of service for adults with complex needs.

    • Oversee accommodation-based quality monitoring systems, safeguarding compliance, and SMART support planning.

    • Represent JUST in commissioner and stakeholder discussions, inspections, and forums.

    • Coach staff and upskill teams by modelling best practice and leading improvement from the ground up.

    • Ensure that performance, training, safety, and record-keeping across services are of consistently high quality.

  • We’re seeking a confident and experienced leader with a passion for raising standards, a keen eye for detail, and a deep commitment to supporting vulnerable adults. You’ll need a unique blend of operational know-how, people management, and visionary drive.

    You should be:

    • Strategic & proactive – always two steps ahead when it comes to compliance, quality, and outcomes.

    • A credible leader – with the presence and communication skills to influence and guide multidisciplinary teams.

    • Inquisitive and rigorous – comfortable auditing, analysing, and implementing change where needed.

  • We’re looking for someone with substantial senior-level experience and a strong background in health or social care.

    You’ll bring:

    • Proven success in leading quality improvement and compliance in adult social care or related fields.

    • Demonstrable experience managing and mentoring diverse teams.

    • Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding, Health & Safety legislation, and regulatory standards.

    • Excellent communication, report writing, and IT skills.

    • An understanding of the needs and risks associated with complex service user presentations.

    • Passion for continuous service development and supporting others to grow and improve.

    • Salary: £42,500 per annum.

    • Hours: 35 hours per week (4 days on-site, 1 day working from home).

      • Annual Leave: 25 days plus Bank Holidays.

      • Location: Based across JUST services with one day remote working.

      • Support Package:

        • Pension enrolment through NEST (5% employee / 3% employer contribution).

        • Interest-free travel loan (post-probation).

      • Probation: 6 months, with regular progress reviews.

      • DBS: Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check required.

Quality Assurance Director

  • As a Support Worker at JUST, you’ll enable people with learning disabilities and autism to live safely, independently, and with dignity. You’ll:

    • Deliver tailored 1:1 support that helps individuals grow life skills, confidence, and autonomy.

    • Implement health and communication plans that promote both physical and mental wellbeing.

    • Co-produce risk and support plans that are SMART, person-centred, and regularly reviewed.

    • Create structured daily routines and activities that foster inclusion and motivation.

    • Promote the use of digital tools and assistive technologies to enhance independence.

    • Ensure meticulous and respectful documentation of all interactions, support plans, and outcomes.

    • Experience (formal or informal) supporting vulnerable individuals is desirable.

    • Confidence with basic admin, IT systems, and keeping accurate records.

    • Salary: £22,000 per annum.

    • Hours: 35 hours per week, worked on a 24-hour rota basis (flexibility required).

    • Annual Leave: 25 days plus Bank Holidays.

    • Location: Allocated to a named service, but may be redeployed across JUST services as needed.

    • Support Package:

      • Enrolment into the NEST pension scheme.

      • Full induction and handbook on appointment.

    • Probation: 6 months, with regular check-ins and development planning.

    • DBS: Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check required.
